From: The Desk of Dee-Dee MacLeod-Wilson
If you are a complete novice and want to learn to
play guitar as a beginner; need easy guitar lessons as a
slightly more advanced guitar player; or as someone coming
back to playing guitar, you can appreciate how frustrating
it is learning the skills and techniques of how to play
guitar without seeing any noticeable results.
All the time and effort that you put into
your guitar doesn't seem to be reflected
in your standard of guitar playing.
Are you frustrated by what seems to be a
lack of quality information on "Learn
to Play Guitar" in the market.
Traditionally when one
wanted to learn to play guitar, you found a local guitar
teacher, paid for your guitar lessons, and toddled off each
week to learn how to play the guitar of your choice -
acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass guitar or even
classical guitar.
Are you frustrated at the lack of time
you have to practise, the amount of money required paying
for your guitar teacher's time and the painfully slow
progress through boring text books?
One on one guitar lessons is still a
great way to learn but unless you have lots of money and
free time on your hands to learn to play guitar...
-
travelling to and from guitar lessons,
-
searching the music
shops for guitar tab of your favourite bands,
-
taking the
time out of your busy day to practise,
the joy of playing
guitar will probably become a frustration.
Are you ready to consider
another way?
You have before you a great resource for guitar beginners
and advanced guitar players alike, through the wonders of the
internet.

guitar guide.

of interest to you and is signposted with lots of places

faster, with shortcuts to guitar playing skills that many
take years to accomplish.
The website will be updated

Firstly you need to have
your own guitar of choice -
whether it is a:
-
6-string
classical,
-
6-string acoustic,
-
6 electric guitar or
-
4-string bass guitar.
and a practise amp with leads if you are going electric.
You can
start with a second hand instrument or even hire one to try
it on for size.
-
For your comfort invest in
a guitar strap - holding a guitar for long practise sessions
without one can be fatiguing even when sitting.
-
A second sets of strings
is handy for when one gets broken. This means that you don't
have to wait before getting back into it again.
For
beginners try "light" strings until you have built up some
finger strength.
-
If you are not good at tuning, and don't
like wasting time tuning you guitar invest in an electronic
tuner.
-
Last but not lest a
variety of picks (plectrums).
Secondly, you need a safe
place to store your guitar.
A guitar case (hard) or guitar bag (soft)
is a good idea for when you transport your guitar and a
guitar stand to rest it in when you are not playing it.
All
these things are for your guitar's protection.
A
critical element to playing the guitar is learning how to
read and write guitar tab (tablature). This is covered in
the free lessons as well as a tutorial on these essential
skills found on the learn to play page.
No matter your age, anyone can learn to play acoustic, bass,
electric or lead guitar quickly, inexpensively and in your
own time at your convenience.
